WHAT WE OFFER

Icynene Spray Foam Insulation

Icynene® spray foam insulation is a high-performance, environmentally responsible insulation system designed to improve energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and overall air quality. Unlike traditional insulation materials, Icynene expands on application to create a continuous air seal that helps reduce energy loss and protect the building envelope.

Icynene spray foam is made using a water-blown polyurethane formulation that incorporates renewable castor oil, reducing the need for harsher petroleum-based chemicals. Once applied and fully cured, Icynene becomes a stable, inert material that supports a healthier indoor environment for both residential and commercial spaces.

We offer both open-cell and closed-cell Icynene spray foam, allowing us to tailor the insulation system to the specific needs of each building.

Why Icynene Is a Healthier Choice

Icynene is engineered with indoor air quality and long-term occupant health in mind. Unlike fiberglass or cellulose insulation, Icynene does not release loose fibers, dust, or particulate matter into the air.

Its castor-oil-based, water-blown formulation helps minimize chemical exposure while delivering superior performance.

Health-focused benefits include:

  • Made with renewable castor oil and water-blown technology

  • Low VOC emissions once cured

  • No airborne fibers or dust

  • Helps block outdoor pollutants, allergens, and moisture

  • Reduces condensation and helps prevent mold growth

  • Creates a tighter, cleaner indoor environment

By sealing gaps, cracks, and penetrations, Icynene helps keep unwanted air and contaminants out while maintaining comfortable indoor conditions.

Closed Cell

Closed-cell Icynene is a dense, rigid insulation that provides maximum thermal performance and moisture resistance. It delivers a higher R-value per inch and adds structural strength to the building.

Benefits of closed-cell spray foam include:

  • High R-value for superior energy efficiency

  • Acts as an air barrier and vapor barrier

  • Resists moisture and condensation

  • Adds durability and rigidity to walls and roofs

  • Ideal for exterior walls, crawl spaces, metal buildings, and demanding environments

Closed-cell spray foam is the best choice when strength, moisture control, and top-tier insulation performance are required.

Open Cell

Open-cell Icynene is a lightweight, soft foam that expands significantly to fill cavities and hard-to-reach areas. Its flexible structure allows for controlled moisture vapor movement while still providing an excellent air seal.

Benefits of open-cell spray foam include:

  • Effective air sealing to reduce drafts and energy loss

  • Excellent sound absorption for quieter indoor spaces

  • Flexible material that adapts to building movement

  • Cost-effective insulation option

  • Ideal for interior walls and attic applications

Open-cell spray foam is well suited for residential and light commercial applications where comfort and sound control are priorities.

Traditional Insulation Options

In addition to Icynene® spray foam, Foam Insulation Specialists offers proven traditional insulation systems to meet a wide range of building needs. Whether you're insulating a new build or upgrading an existing structure, we install cellulose insulation, mineral wool, and fiberglass to deliver reliable thermal performance, sound control, and long-term comfort.

Each material offers unique advantages, and our certified team will recommend the right solution based on your building type, climate, and performance goals.

Mineral Wool

Mineral wool (also known as rock wool) is a dense, durable insulation material known for its superior fire resistance and sound control. Its composition makes it highly resistant to moisture and ideal for demanding environments.

Benefits of mineral wool insulation include:

  • Excellent fire resistance

  • Superior sound absorption

  • Naturally moisture resistant

  • Maintains shape and performance over time

  • Ideal for walls, ceilings, and commercial applications

Mineral wool is a strong option when safety, durability, and noise reduction are top priorities.
