Spray Foam Insulation in Creede & Mineral County

Open-cell and closed-cell spray foam, Rockwool, and cellulose for Creede and Mineral County cabins, homes, and shops. At about 8,800 feet, Creede is one of the highest and coldest places we work, and our crew drives up from Pagosa Springs over Wolf Creek Pass to get here.

A recent Mineral County job: all open-cell

In September 2026 our crew finished a spray foam job in Mineral County, and it was all open-cell. Open-cell expands to fill the whole cavity, seals the air leaks that let heat out, and absorbs sound, and on that building it was the right foam.

We pick the foam per building. Open-cell suits interior walls, vaulted ceilings, and roof decks designed to dry. Closed-cell goes where the cavity is shallow, where moisture is the problem, or on steel. In Creede we use both. The full comparison is on our spray foam insulation page.

Getting to Creede from Pagosa Springs

Creede is about 64 miles from our shop: over Wolf Creek Pass to South Fork, then northwest on Highway 149 through Wagon Wheel Gap along the Rio Grande. Plan on an hour and a half in good weather.

We're a Pagosa Springs company, not a Creede one, and we won't pretend otherwise. We're the crew that makes the drive, and the walkthrough is still free.

Long winters, short building season

At 8,800 feet, winter comes early and leaves late. Nights below zero aren't unusual, snow sits on roofs for months, and the window for easy access is short. That changes how a job gets planned: book the walkthrough early, ideally late summer or early fall, so the work happens while the roads are easy.

Inside, air sealing the ceiling matters more here than almost anywhere, because heavy snow on a leaky roof is how ice dams start. Our attic insulation page explains the order we work in.

Creede buildings we insulate

Older homes in town

Many houses in town went up long before insulation codes. Air sealing, a blown-in cellulose attic top-up, and a sealed crawlspace go a long way.

Cabins up the Rio Grande

Seasonal cabins and summer homes along the river and up the forest roads, many closed up for the winter. We insulate for the weeks nobody's there.

Shops and outbuildings

Steel and post-frame buildings that have to hold heat at elevation. Closed-cell stops condensation on cold metal; see metal building insulation.

We also install Rockwool for quiet rooms and fire resistance. Everything we do is on the insulation services page.

What customers say

Google 5.0★ from 12 reviews.

"#1 Insulation company in Southern Colorado. My building project has 15' - 30' ceilings, 4050ft.² home, two mezzanines and third floor lofts. Ceilings: 5" Icynene Plus Spray Foam, certified healthy, and to code expectation. Class three vapor barrier that is hydrophobic. Window and door areas well insulated. R30 Mineral Wool Batts for soundproofing walls and all stairways. They went above and beyond by checking on my property and cleaning up after themselves and doing everything requested. They did an excellent job and fast!" — Shänti Lira, Google review

Creede insulation questions

Do you travel to Creede for insulation jobs?

Yes. Mineral County is part of our regular service area. We drive up from Pagosa Springs over Wolf Creek Pass, and the walkthrough is free.

When should I book a Creede job?

As early as you can. Late summer and early fall are the easiest months to get over the pass and finish the work before winter sets in.

Is open-cell or closed-cell better at Creede's elevation?

Neither one wins everywhere. Open-cell fills big cavities and roof assemblies designed to dry; closed-cell handles moisture, shallow cavities, and steel. Our recent Mineral County job was all open-cell because that's what the building called for.
