Insulation Contractor in Pagosa Springs & Archuleta County
Foam Insulation Specialists is a Pagosa Springs crew. The shop is at 412 Bastille Dr, Ste 1B, and we've been insulating homes, cabins, and shops here since 2000. Spray foam, Rockwool, cellulose, and crawlspace work, done by people who live with the same winters you do.

Local crew, based on Bastille Dr
We're not driving over from Durango for the day. The office is in Pagosa Springs, the crew works out of Pagosa Springs, and the phone is answered here Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Mountain. Michael Richline has owned and led FIS since 2026; the company was founded here in 2000.
That matters when a job needs a second look. If something on site isn't what the plans showed, we're close enough to come back out, and you can reach the same person who quoted the work. The walkthrough is free, and most of them are right here in town.
Pagosa projects: new builds, cabins, crawlspaces
Recent work in and around Pagosa Springs. These are our jobs, not stock photos.
New build, vaulted great room
Closed-cell spray foam on the walls and the vaulted roof of a Pagosa Springs new build, sprayed while the framing was open.
Cabins
Vaulted cabins where the roof is the ceiling, foamed in the rafters so there's no attic to lose heat into.
Crawlspaces
Stem walls foamed with closed-cell and the ground sealed with a vapor barrier.
Mountain winters: ice dams & cold floors
Two complaints come up on almost every older house we walk in Archuleta County. Ice building up at the eaves, and floors that never warm up.
Ice dams start with warm air leaking into the attic or the roof, melting snow from underneath. The useful fix is air sealing first and then insulating, not another foot of insulation piled on top of a leaky ceiling. Cold floors usually trace back to the crawlspace and the rim joist, where outside air runs right under the house. Both are jobs we do every week here.
New builds are the easier version of the same idea: foam the roofline and the walls while everything is open, seal the rim, and the house never grows those problems.
Pagosa Lakes, Chromo, Arboles, and second homes
We cover all of Archuleta County, not just town. Pagosa Lakes, Chromo to the south, and Arboles down toward Navajo Lake are regular work for us, along with the cabins scattered up the county roads.
A lot of those are second homes and rentals that sit empty for stretches of the winter. An empty house still has to hold up to a cold snap: pipes in outside walls, a crawlspace that drops below freezing, a roof that ices over because nobody's there to notice. We insulate and air seal with that in mind, and we're here locally if a property manager needs us back.
Past the county line we also work in Bayfield, Durango, South Fork, Creede, and Chama, New Mexico. Pagosa is home base.

Questions from Pagosa homeowners
Are you actually based in Pagosa Springs?
Yes. The shop is at 412 Bastille Dr, Ste 1B, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. We've worked here since 2000, and Michael Richline has owned the company since 2026.
Do you cover Pagosa Lakes and the rest of Archuleta County?
Yes. Pagosa Lakes, Chromo, Arboles, and the county roads in between are all regular work. The walkthrough is free.
Can you help a second home that sits empty all winter?
That's a common one here. We air seal and insulate with cold snaps in mind — crawlspaces, outside-wall pipes, and roofs that ice up when nobody's around to watch them.
What insulation do you install?
Icynene open-cell and closed-cell spray foam, Rockwool mineral wool, blown-in cellulose, and fiberglass. We'll tell you which one the house actually needs instead of defaulting to foam.
How do I reach you?
Call 970-749-5711, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Mountain, or send the form on the contact page. We're BBB A+ Accredited.
